Some years are more complicated than others to find the silver lining, but even in 2020, Jillian and her clients and friends have much to be grateful for. From personal development to living the FI life, 2020 brought many “best of” moments during a challenging year.
This year was the year Jillian started the podcast, and Adam became a podcast editor! They moved into a new house (with a GARAGE!). It was a year that enabled Adam to foster critical thinking and empathy in his son and allowed he and Jillian to learn how to support one another better during challenging times.
“We couldn’t be too busy [for one another]”
Jillian’s six guests also had much to celebrate in 2020, but one common thread was community. Having community gave Kelly the encouragement she needed to start her podcast with like-minded friends. Brankica accidentally became “lean FI” when she and her partner moved to the pacific northwest. Angel met his girlfriend (now his wife) through an online class! Josh traveled to connect with friends more in the first ten weeks of 2020 than most of us do in ten years. Melanie grew her own community by stepping into her own coaching business, and Kevin saw his business grow even though he prioritized being with his family.
As they look to 2021, there is excitement for a new year, a fresh start, the possibility of travel, new babies – business ones and human ones, sabbaticals, and the pursuit of the things that make a positive impact and bring joy to the process. What will your 2021 look like? Will you step out and build your community? Will you get closer to financial independence? What adventure will you embark on in the next twelve months?
